the Monolith

This is the Monolith, the centerpiece of Vigelandsparken, standing 14 meters tall and carved from a single granite block. The Monolith is adorned with 121 intertwined human figures, representing the eternal struggle and unity of humanity. It took three stone carvers 14 years to complete this monumental sculpture. The Monolith’s towering presence and intricate design make it a profound symbol of Vigeland’s artistic genius.
