Festung Edøy

In 1941, the Germans buildt a fortress on Edøya. From this point they had a complete overview of traffic at sea between southern and northern Norway. Within a few months, a military facility was built with cannon positions, bunkers, tunnels, mitral positions, barracks and other necessary installations. The foundations of the plant can still be seen in the landscape.
