People have lived on Kyrhaug farm since the mid-17th century. In 1791 William Rennie became the owner of the farm. He had run a trade and a guesthouse at Oterholmen. He now moved this business to Kyrhaug. Rennie had borrowed money and was unable to repay. Thus the farm went to forced auction. The eldest son overtook the farm for 2000 riksdaler. He later sold to the next owner, named Wingaard. Wingaard was thus allowed to take over houses, trade privileges and "all other rights and glory" The next owner was Augustinus Rognskog from Halsa. He continued the business of trading and also the guesthouse. Rognskog also sold Ringholmen to the Marine Ministry where Tyrhaug lighthouse was built. In 1882, his son Daniel Rognskog became the owner. He was mayor of EdĂžy municipality in the middle of the 19th century. Later, the farm was sold to the Vaagland family who also came from Halsa. Today, Kyrhaug Farm is a resort for the Vaagland family.
